Washington Hospitality Association
This year Sen. Joe Fain was the biggest champion on Paid Family and Medical Leave. Fain is the prime sponsor of legislation that passed, which was a compromise between two bills addressing the issue. With his keen insight during the negotiation process Washington now has the best law in the nation for both businesses and employees.
Community Employment Alliance
Senator Fain was recognized as one of this year's Outstanding Legislators, his second year in a row. The award goes to legislators who have made exceptional efforts to support employment for people with disabilities. During the 2015 session, Fain protected funding for the VIP Act, which funds employment services for 1,000 people with developmental disabilities.
Multi-Family Housing Association
Senator Fain was recognized on Sept. 26 at WMFHA’s annual Washington Apartment Outlook, an industry event which provides economic forecasts and highlights industry trends. The event gathered over 700 professionals from the multi-family housing industry.

Aerospace Futures Alliance
Citing his work on a number of key issues, the Aerospace Futures Alliance has named Sen. Joe Fain (R-Auburn) its Legislator of the Year for 2013. The award was presented during the eighth annual Governor's Aerospace Summit in Everett on Wednesday.

Washington State Housing Finance Commission
Senator Joe Fain, a Republican from the 47th district, has been honored as a “Proud Partner” by the Washington State Housing Finance Commission for his role in protecting downpayment assistance programs for homebuyers.

A state senator since 2011, he serves as the senate’s majority floor leader and this year helped found the Majority Coalition Caucus, a combination of Democrats and Republicans. A Republican himself, he believes in the strength of bipartisanship, and successfully ran the initiative in King County to make the county government nonpartisan.
Today, the state’s leading small-business association released its voting record for the 62nd Washington State Legislature. The National Federation of Independent Business has named 62 state lawmakers as Guardians of Small Business as a result of their votes during the six sessions of the 2011-12 Legislature.

Republican state Sen. Joe Fain, the prime sponsor of the measure that passed last year, said Microsoft's decision was "a really powerful step forward."
By applying the plan to contractors and vendors around the country, "it really creates a pressure for those state legislatures to make a similar decision that Washington made."

Auburn residents are well represented when it comes to job support and training for people with disabilities. The City of Auburn and state Sen. Joe Fain, R-Auburn, were recognized by the Community Employment Alliance at the group's annual meeting in Snoqualmie on Oct. 7.
Washington state Sen. Joe Fain believes he has found the perfect job for himself based on his traits: a strong work ethic and “channelable ADD.”Always a curious person, Fain said he expects to be 70 years old and still not be able to answer the question, “what do you want to do with your life?”
In a publication to members of the Washington REALTOR’s Association, Sen. Joe Fain was thanked for his efforts in leading the charge to keep the state’s pledge to small businesses throughout Washington.

State Sen. Joe Fain (R-Auburn, 47th District) received the Bill Kyle Memorial Award for his elected service at the Auburn Area Chamber of Commerce's fifth annual Recognition of Service dinner Wednesday at the Muckleshoot Casino.
